Hi everyone, I’m happy to send the latest episode of our podcast – The Way of the Heart. You can download it here.

In this episode Jake and I continue the series on security, maturity, and purity by focusing on the stage of security which is the foundation of the masculine journey and our life in God.  As you know, this podcast is intended for a male audience but anyone can benefit.

Security is knowing you are the apple of your heavenly Father’s eye and that He delights in you just for who you are, not for what we do.

The baptism of Jesus shows how the Father delights in Him when He says, “You are beloved son in whom I am well pleased.”  He thinks the same of you – have you heard these words whispered deep in your own heart?

Humanly speaking Jesus was formed in the area of security for 30 years. Biblical scholars refer to these as the “hidden years” the time when Jesus, the Son of God, was growing in wisdom and stature before God and men as a son of Joseph and Mary.

“The language of faith thus draws on the human experience of parents, who are in a way the first representatives of God for man. But this experience also tells us that human parents are fallible and can disfigure the face of fatherhood and motherhood.” (Catechism of the Catholic Church 239)

Have you thought deeply about how your experience in the home growing up has shaped your image of God. We made a podcast on the “Image of God” here.

The foundation of our life in God is security. Enjoy the episode.
